Working in a network and using advanced platforms of genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics and molecular biology, the spin-off group of innovative technology-based BIOT aims to provide advanced microbiological solutions, using microorganisms as key pieces of bioprocesses. BIOT is committed to produce new knowledge, transfer the already generated and improve products and services across different business lines to cover key sub-sectors of biotechnology, such as functional food, nutrition and health on the one hand, and the agroenvironmental and renewable energies like bioplastics and biofuels on the other.

Due to a common microbiological know-how in a wide range technology field supported by groups from both universities and public research centers, the initial activities of Biot Group have been evolving and diversifying across different technology based companies, located in different provinces of Andalucía. All Biot group companies are specialists in their field strengthened by participation of various strategic associates and alliances with technology-based companies, industries, public enterprises, universities and public research organizations.
